Ok, now a bit about me.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the written word. I was a kid who wrote stories in her spare time, and a teen that had a LiveJournal (yes, I am that old).
I never actually thought I could make a living through writing, so I decided to study fashion marketing instead. I was copywriting without even knowing it in my first few jobs. As a B2B sales representative, my most effective way of scoring new clients was through the company newsletters I wrote.
Eventually I got into visual merchandising, which instilled an intrinsic element of storytelling into everything I do. Then the covid-19 pandemic encouraged me to re-evaluate my career. I wasn’t able to work as a VM, which is when I discovered that I actually could combine my passion for writing with my fashion background through copywriting. I’ve been working with some of the world’s coolest independent fashion and jewelry brands ever since.
My fun facts
- I’m an unintentional global nomad. I was born in Moscow to Russian and Nepali parents, raised in Vancouver, have lived in the UK and Australia, and currently reside in Victoria, Canada. My diverse mix of cultures has given me a broad perspective of the world that flows through my copy.
- I have a silly sense of humour. Offbeat comedies like Archer and Kath & Kim are my favourite.
- I’m a certified beach bum. I prioritize coastal destinations above all others, and can often be found at my local beach when I’m not writing.
